Chocolate and Your Heart

Chocolate lovers, listen up! Have I got some good news!

Like many of you, I have this totally massive addiction to chocolate. It used to make me feel guilty, because I’ve always been told that chocolate is bad for you.
Would you believe that this is not true?

For real…I found an article in the health section of CNN.com that talked about the Harvard University School of Public Health doing 136 studies on coco, which is the foundation of chocolate, and--along with Mary B. Engler, Ph.D, chocolate researcher, (what a job!) and director of the School of Nursing of the Cardiovascular and Genomics Graduate Program at the University of California in San Francisco--discovered that coco boost heart health by increasing blood flow, causing less platelet stickiness and clotting. Coco also improves bad cholesterol. Coco’s antioxidant chemicals, called flavonoids, seem also to prevent cell damage and inflammation.

What about that? Is it not the best news you have ever heard? No more do we chocoholics have to feel guilty about our love for the delicious elixir we so adore.
This calls for a celebration!

Talk to you later. I need to run out and stock up on some heart-healthy, yummy, yummy chocolate.
